A Jain Wedding in Central India

If you were to take a map of India and draw a straight line between Delhi and Mumbai, more or less exactly halfway along it you’ll find a small industrial town called Nagda. Head out of town, past the factory and along the almost uniquely potholed road, and not long after the dust gives way to the greens of the fields, you’ll arrive in Bhatisuda.

It’s somewhere I’ve visited a number of times – most recently for the wedding of Tapish bhai. These photographs, presented chronologically, cover the six days I spent attending the fascinating, often beautiful, and occasionally surprising ceremonies that made up Tapish and Anshu’s wedding. Shubh viva Tapish aur Anshu!
